The hotel was nice and everything was first class, with a great restaurant. They also had a coffee machine in the lobby which had every possible coffee (latte, mocha, etc) and this was free and available at all times. The location fronted the Pseudocraters and Lake Myvatn which are amazing. It is also within driving distance of a number of attractions. The staff are very helpful, and also offer a wake up call at night if Northern Lights are visible. Hotel price also included a good breakfast buffet.

The rooms, as in all the Fosshotel locations, were lovely. The bar and breakfast area were beautiful, and we loved seeing the sheep that hang out near the hotel. The location was good - although we had a very rainy, misty, cold June day in Lake Myvatn so I cannot say if the views were good (they appear to be). Our only issue was that the construction of the hotel is concrete, which made all the footsteps in the rooms above us rather loud, and my kids had trouble sleeping due to it.

An excellent place to stay next to Lake Myvatn. Located close to Hverir geothermal area and Myvatn Nature Baths (well worth a visit). The restaurant here is superb and the buffet breakfast the best we had in Iceland with meats and cheeses etc. from the farm (there is a very strong farm to plate ethic going on here). The room itself was well sized but cozy and warm (it was minus 13 in the morning so this was important!). Plus you can go and pet the cows and calves!

The room was comfortable and really clean. There were shared showers/toilets but the room had a sink inside which was a plus. The breakfast was delicious, with a very nice view of the fields. 20min by car from Lake Myvatn. One can also buy pretty Icelandic sweaters there in a decent price compared to shops in Reykjavik or Akureyri.

Nice location very close to lake Myvatn. Very friendly receptionist, who took her time to explain everything we needed to know. We booked a suite, which was nice and spacious with a bedroom and a sitting room. We had dinner in the garden of Gamli Baerinn, the tavern next door that belongs to the hotel. Nice food and friendly waiters.

Central location at lake Myvatn. Proper rooms with bath and comfortable bed. We were here in August, so there were thousands of flies and mosquitos which dont bite, so its just a little bit stressful when they invade your head. :) Nothing to do with the guesthouse, just consider this at that time of the year.

Comfortable but small room, large en suite bathroom with heated floor. Excellent location for Lake Myvatn - short drive to all key sites including Myvatn baths, Hverir etc. Close to supermarket, petrol station, pizza and more formal restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out with self use codes.

Very nice and modern hotel close to the lake Myvatn. The rooms were tidy and clean, restaurant food was delicious.

Tidy and clean room, decorated nicely, excellent breakfast and amazing location. The room was small, but really enough for a couple 💑. Shared kitchen available for self coffee and tea.

I was directly surprised by the change. I was here five years ago and the equipment was bad. The renovation is great. Clean rooms, large kitchen and common room. Close to Pizza and restaurants with a farm. Very nice stafs.

Everything was great, the rooms, kitchen and bathrooms are clean. The hosts are friendly, the breakfast was excellent. All recommendations.

Great breakfast. Lava bread was different. The host was really accommodating and so kind. They made me an early breakfast package due to my early departure. There's a grocery store, gas station, and fish n chips place nearby.
