Great location, close to bus stop 9 for all the bus pick ups and within walking distance to all city sights. Breakfast was lovely-provided gluten free bread on request.
Downtown Reykjavik is full of life, joy and culture, so it can be noisy at night. We recommend enjoying the live music at the bar downstairs, which will stop at 11 in the night.

Its a very quirky Capital and very clean and well worth a visit. Fairly expensive but as its the 6th most expensive Country in the World so you would expect this. The Town Centre is so compact and easy to navigate and there are many trips to areas outside the capital. The Bus Service in my opinion was hard to access and navigate and I didnt think the bus drivers were too bothered about helping foreign people who dont speak Icelandic which was a little off putting but generally most people who were Icelandic were very polite and helpful and eager to point you in the right direction - definitely a nice place to visit and I would recommend highly. The trips out are expensive but worth a shot. On reflection I should have hired a car but I more than likely would have got completely lost as the roads were confusing but its not like the UK with Cars everywhere its got very few cars so not as much pressure ! Its a great place and very unlike the UK in lots of ways. Plenty of outdoor pools in Rejkavic too so if you like a swim its all good fun !

Reykjavik was exceptional!
Reykjavik was exceptional! Most people understood and spoke English which made my trip so delightful. Communication was extremely important to me. Residents were very friendly and kind! There is a palpable pride of the citizens that you can feel.
We stayed at the Black Pearl and our stay was perfect with restaurants and shops right outside of our door!
Very beautiful and clean city!
We went to the Blue Lagoon Spa and it exceeded my expectations!

The city is a must see if visiting southern Iceland.
The city is a must see if visiting southern Iceland. It is very expensive and there are not many free public restrooms, so I chose not to buy drinks and coffee as much as I might have. I would spend a couple days here at most and visit all the other amazing natural sites in Iceland for longer.

We were out of Reykjavik during the day but when into town at night. The roads make it easy to get in and out. There were loads of pubs and souvenir shops, some pubs were obviously better than others but the bar staff were all friendly.
locals seem to go out late on the Friday and Saturday and after 11 there seemed to be queues for every pub in the city.

A lovely place easy to walk around.
A lovely place easy to walk around. We hired a car and drove out most days. Very expensive to eat and drink out - take advantage of the happy hours ! We booked an apartment which helped as we had breakfast and made sandwiches each day. Roads are good to drive out on the Golden Circle Tour. Don't miss the 'free' places where you can go into the thermal pools/rivers.
The Downtown Reykjavik Apartments are an affordable way to see Iceland on a budget. They are not fancy, but they are comfortable enough and provide a kitchen where you can save money by cooking your meals. (You can get to the Bonus grocery store with a 10 minute walk.) We also walked to the church and Sun Voyager from the apartments. It's very close to bus stop #13, and bus stop #12 is a little farther but is also an easy walk. Easy check in, secure, and instructions were clear. We were happy with our 3 night stay.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful, and the hostess is lovely. Building is very quaint and the location is superb, the city center and closest pool being in walking distance from the hotel.
The planes flying in to Reykjavík City Airport above the hotel were noisy, but I still enjoyed them, and luckily the last flight always was in the evening and not until the late morning the next day.
Breakfast was homely and simple, which I appreciated since I chose Baldursbrá for a simple experience. The flatkökur were excellent.
Basic, very clean guesthouse in an ideal downtown location for exploring Reykjavik or going on tours. Airport bus outside the door. Clean communal area with facilities for cooking and storing food. Small bedroom with a basin, hanging space and bedside lights had all we required. Shared toilets and shower room very clean and there were never queues. Staff friendly and helpful. Being on the 4th floor it was pretty quiet. Many fancier more expensive places to stay in the city but we found this good value for the price.
We had the best time at Storm Hotel, it was perfect for what we wanted. There's a bus stop just in front of the hotel where all the tours around Iceland stop, including the ones to the northern lights and the airport, so we couldn't be happier. The hotel is also just a 5-10 minute walk to the city center, so it's also perfect to visit the city. The room had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Iceland is amazing and we want to be back as soon as possible and whenever we come back, we will stay at Storm Hotel.
One of the cheap nice hotels I found in Reykjavik for thanks to booking.com. Very clean rooms. The hotel has really friendly staff. They were able to provide for my requests of cutlery dead of the night.
The location is also great! bus stops are near by. hotel also provides a pick up service from the airport for an economic fee.
Breakfast was also pretty decent. Not many vegetarian options but with bread and salad veggies, it’s also easy to set a sandwich. :)
Perfect location to explore Reykjavik on foot near to all cafes and restaurants (unlike more well-known hotel chains that aren’t walking distance to downtown Reykjavik). Amazing staff and great size rooms with kitchenettes. Loved the daily supply of milk and juice. The best power showers with pampering Occitaine hand wash, shampoo, conditioner & shower gel. Kids loved the PlayStation 4 loaded with games too after a long day’s tour or hike.
IG is a great value! It is in a really awesome location, right by the famous church! It also has lots of easy street parking. It is close to the downtown city center so you can walk everywhere around Reykjavik. The bed, showers, and common areas were all clean and comfortable. The best part was the people I met! Really fun and interesting people! Also the service was amazing and generous.
We only stayed for one night but the staff was very friendly & helpful. The check-in was smooth and very quick, we made use of the free parking right in front of the Hostel in the center of Reykjavik, which is unbeatable. The location is right in the center of downtown, the room was clean with our own sink & there were plenty of bathrooms which were regularly cleaned.
Centrally located in downtown Reykjavik with direct access to pretty much everything you need in town. The hotel is located in a beautiful building with all the comforts necessary for a very good stay. Having a little kitchnette adds value to the place, since you can prepare your own (simple) meals and breakfast.
I cannot wait to go back to Kvosin. It is excellent.
We only stayed for 1 night, on our return from a 2 days tour and the night before going to the airport very early in the morning.
Anyway, the few hours we spent at the hotel were amazing, I wanted to stay longer so this hotel will be my choise when back in Reykjavik :)
Receptionist was super nice, and we got upgraded to a room with balcony and a stunning view.
Baron's Hostel is cheap, super clean, with very confortable beds. Dormitories are small, thus quiet. The hosts are charming and very helpful. The location is excellent, close to city centre and BSI. There's an excellent swimming pool just accross the street, with hot pots to relax after a busy day. I could'nt wish for a better place to stay in Reykjavik.
We have stayed at the Exeter every time we visit Reykjavík and will likely always. You cannot beat the location in 101 next to the harbor, yet walkable to all of downtown. There is free overnight parking nearby which is rare and the continental breakfast is a value in and of itself. The staff are always kind, efficient, and helpful.
For me it was perfect because it's cheap (compared to other accomodations in Reykjavík), it's located directly in the city center and the bus stop isn't far away. It's also clean, which is always one of the most important points for me. I would definitely stay there again, if I come back to Reykjavík!
Awesome location close to downtown Reykjavik. The breakfast had a lot of options and helped fill us up for a big day. Parking was free but on the street so can talk a while to find; we got lucky both times we moved the car and found spots close to the hotel. Overall really satisfied with our stay.
Nice staff and simple but good accommodation, breakfast was plenty full. Quite easy to get a bus to downtown and way cheaper than places there, we had a car and there was plenty of parking and it seamed like others were getting picked up from the hotel for tours
The location and customer service are superb! you can walk anywhere in downtown Reykjavik from this hotel. the front desk staff were so attentive and we kept our bags in the lobby luggage lockers while on an excursion, even after checking out.
Great location, very good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and reasonably comfortable room. Many attractions and restaurants near the hotel and easy to walk to downtown center. Bus stop very close.
This is one of my favorite locations to stay in Reykjavik. Perfectly located in the middle of the downtown area and close to everything. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean! Good breakfast.
